About Us

Tools For Kids began in 2001 as a local business where we would pick up small therapy items that we needed for our Pediatric Occupational Therapy practice. In 2011 we purchased the business and built it into an online platform shipping across Canada but you can still pick up from our door here in Edmonton!

We focus on bringing in the foundational smaller pediatric therapy items used in schools, clinics and homes. TFK began with the traditional tools such as pencil grips, adapted scissors, weighted items, Handwriting without Tears materials and sensory toys. We now have a wide range of Oral Motor tools from various companies, these tools include adapted cups and straws, jaw strengthening tools, chew tools and more. 

In 2019 we purchased KJ Laser Slant Boards and we now fabricate the 2', 5" and adjustable acrylic slant boards in our workshop. These slant boards allow for individual to rest their arm while writing and the elevation of the board allows for ease of viewing the paper. 

Tools For Kids Inc. is also the official distributor for The Alert Program (How Does Your Engine Run?) hard copy materials.
